Sorry–if I could teleport, I’d go everywhere I possibly could. The reason I say that is because that there are a few things already in the works that I’m still waiting for confirmation on. – As I said above, I will be announcing a couple more events. Phone numbers are listed with each event)īARNES & NOBLE AT THE CLACKAMAS TOWN CENTER MALLĪnd to cover the questions I always get asked about events: ( and if you have any questions about the event, like whether they’ll be doing tickets or wristbands, etc, please contact the store directly. So don’t miss out!)Ī couple more events are still being confirmed, but since I know so many of you have been asking about the tour, see below for everything that I know so far! I AM SO EXCITED! Pre-order now if you want to get one before they sell out! (the plan is for the editions to be available in stores and online, but they are limited, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. In case you haven’t already seen, this year Barnes & Noble is offering an EXCLUSIVE edition of NIGHTFALL that will have special endpapers featuring one of my illustrations (like the sharpie-doodled books I’ve posted on Instagram in the past) along with a short story written in Keefe’s POV (KEEFE! KEEFE! KEEFE!) and an additional illustration (also drawn by me) based on a scene in the book. So keep an eye out for all of that VERY SOON.īut today I have something equally exciting: the NIGHTFALL tour dates! Scroll down to see where I’ll be heading–hopefully it’s near you! And in the weeks ahead I’m going to have all kinds of important things to reveal (including how to take advantage of the pre-order giveaway). I can’t believe we’re less than two months away from NIGHTFALL (it’s coming out 11/7/17 in case you didn’t know). □ Have a good week everyone! Shannon Messenger’s Newsletter Has some cheesiness at the end when she’s like “I won the spelling bee not because of my luck, but because of my skill.”īasically, it was pretty good I thought of a lot more good things about it than bad, and I really love Copper, like y’all should read it just for him.I find that kind of gross, but I guess rabbits’ feet are just very important in Fortune Falls… The cat rescuing them by bringing them a rabbit’s foot… ew.I really liked that, even though their town is magical and luck is practically tangible, the author still let her characters realize that “luck” is a notion made up by people to make themselves feel special. Okay, if I was an Unlucky, I feel like I would blame myself for a lot of bad stuff that happened to people around me, and to be honest, some of it probably would be, but not all of it. The way that Sadie feels responsible for her dad’s death.Partially just because I love cats but I really like the fact that (spoiler alert) in their community entirely based on superstition, a black cat saves her. Can a girl who’s never so much as found a single lucky penny change her fortune? Or will she be forced to celebrate her twelfth birthday by saying farewell to everyone she loves? Because for Sadie, seven years bad luck isn’t an inconvenience - it’s practically a death sentence. But when their scheme accidentally results in a broken mirror, the situation turns dire. Sadie can’t stand the thought of leaving home, so she and her friend, Cooper, devise a plan to reverse her bad luck. And things will only get worse as she gets older, which is why Unluckies are sent away at age twelve to protect those around them. She can’t pass a ladder without walking under it, and black cats won’t leave her alone. However, there aren’t enough charms in the universe to help Sadie Bleeker. Four-leaf clovers really do bring good fortune, and owning a rabbit’s foot is the secret to success. Welcome to Fortune Falls, a magical town where superstitions are real.
